What is Servo Saver?

The Victorian government has introduced a new system designed to give drivers up-to-date info on fuel prices.

The Victorian Government requires all fuel stations in Victoria to report their prices to us within 30 minutes of them changing. We then show these prices on the Service Victoria app so you can find the best price near you.

All fuel stations in Victoria must sign up and start reporting their prices by 31 July 2025.

Will it cost me anything to use this service?

No, the service is free.

Do I have to sign up to anything to use this service?

No, you do not have to sign up for a Service Victoria account to use Servo Saver.

However, signing up also allows you to access a large range of other convenient government services. This includes accessing your digital driver licence, Working with Children Check, renewing vehicle rego and more.

Using the Servo Saver App

Is there a mobile app for fuel prices in Victoria?

Yes. Fuel prices can be accessed through the official Service Victoria app. You can download it through the Apple App Store or Google Play for Android.

I have the Service Victoria app, where can I start seeing fuel prices?

Now that you have the app installed on your phone, open it, and select 'Servo Saver' on the menu at the bottom of the screen.

This will take you to a map view, where you can see the prices of all the fuel stations around you. You will have to grant the app permission to see your GPS location.

You can use the search bar to look at the fuel stations in specific areas. This can help you plan where to stop and buy fuel on your journey.

You can also use the filter options to search by specific fuel type, such as 98 octane, or diesel.

Accuracy and reporting issues

Where does fuel price info come from and how accurate is it?

Fuel stations report their prices to Service Victoria directly. Then we update that price in the app immediately. Fuel stations need to report their price changes to Service Victoria within 30 minutes.

Since the info comes straight from the fuel station it’s as accurate as possible.

I’ve noticed some incorrect info in the app, can I report this?

Yes, you can tell us about issues including incorrect:

• prices
• fuel type availability
• contact details
• station location
• anything else

To report an issue, go to the app, find the station with the issue, select it and then select ‘report issue’.

Pricing and discounts

Do prices include discounts, loyalty points or special offers?

No. The prices shown are the standard prices. They can’t include any discounts, loyalty points or special offers. Some retailers won’t sell you fuel unless you sign up to their membership program. In this case, we will make that clear by having ‘Members only’ written next to their name in the app. 

You can still use any discounts or loyalty programs that retailers offer when you go to pay.
