You can enrol online to vote in Victoria.
What you need to know
It’s compulsory to vote in Victorian elections if
- You’re an Australian citizen or a qualified British subject* over 18 years of age
- You’ve lived at your current address in Victoria for at least one month.
*A qualified British subject for the electoral roll in Victoria is someone who was on an Australian electoral roll between 26 October 1983 and 26 January 1984.
If you’re enrolling for the first time you need
- A person who’s already enrolled to vote in Victoria to witness your enrolment.
- To provide proof of your identity, such as a driver licence.
