About Working with Children Connect
What is Working with Children Connect?
Working with Children (WCC) Connect is an online service for organisations, labour hire agencies, sole traders and parents to manage WWC notification requirements.
Use WWC Connect to notify the Social Services Regulator and maintain records about workers (including volunteers) you engage in child-related work.
WWC Connect also lets the Social Services Regulator notify you if a worker’s WWC Clearance status changes.
Who can access Working with Children Connect?
Authorised representatives of registered Business Profiles can access the organisation’s Business Profile and WWC Connect, and can authorise access for others in the business.
Do I need to notify the Social Services Regulator about a person using a Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration?
If you engage a teacher in non-teaching child-related work (e.g. as a leader of a Scouts group) you must notify the Social Services Regulator. If the teacher provides their VIT registration instead of a WWC Clearance, you must include their VIT registration when notifying.
You can notify the Social Services Regulator through WWC Connect by selecting ‘VIT registration’ instead of ‘WWC Clearance’.

How do I register?

What information do I need to register?
We’ll ask for:
- your organisation name, if applicable

Notify the Social Services Regulator about a worker
Why do I need to notify the Social Services Regulator?
From 19 October 2026, organisations and individuals who engage workers (including volunteers) in child-related work must notify the Social Services Regulator about those workers.
Working with Children (WWC) Connect helps you meet this requirement and keep your worker records up to date. Organisations and individuals who do not meet this requirement may face compliance or enforcement action.
What information do I need to provide?
For each worker, you’ll need to provide:
- the name and contact details
- the WWC Clearance details
- the date you engage (or list, if you’re a labour hire agency) the person for child-related work
- the date you stop engaging (or you cease listing, if you’re a labour hire agency) the person for child-related work, if applicable
- changes to their name or contact details
- changes to your organisation’s details
Do I need to notify about volunteers?
Yes. You must notify the Social Services Regulator about both paid and volunteer workers you engage in child-related work.
Do I need to notify about existing workers?
We strongly encourage you to add your existing workers to WWC Connect, but this is optional.
If you choose to add your existing workers, this means you can receive alerts if their WWC Clearance status changes.
If an existing worker stops working with you or changes their details after 19 October 2026, you must notify the Social Services Regulator of the change.
How do I notify the Social Services Regulator?
Log in to WWC Connect, enter the required details, check the information and submit the notification.
How long do I have to report a new worker?
You must notify the SSR within:
- 7 days of engagement for paid workers and
- 21 days of engagement for volunteer workers.
Managing your workers’ information
What happens if I submit incorrect information?
If you submit incorrect information, you should update the worker’s record in your ‘Worker List’ as soon as possible.
Contact support if you can’t make the change in WWC Connect.
Can I see all my workers in my ‘Worker List’?
Your ‘Worker List’ shows ‘Active’ workers by default. These are people you have told us you currently engage in child-related work. Select ‘Inactive’ to see workers you have told us you no longer engage in child-related work.
What do I do if a worker’s WWC Clearance status changes to ‘Ineligible’?
A worker must have a valid WWC Clearance to do child-related work.
If they no longer have a valid WWC Clearance, you must:
- stop engaging them in child-related work immediately
- enter the date they stopped child-related work in WWC Connect
What happens if I enter an end date for a worker?
The worker will be marked ‘Inactive’ and moved to your ‘Inactive’ list.
If you engage them in child-related work at a later date, you’ll need to add them again, as you would a new worker.
What details can I update for a worker?
You can update:
- name
- WWC Clearance number
- child-related work start date
- child related work end date
- WCES status
- phone
- home address
- whether they are an employee or volunteer
