Check-in means ‘providing your name and phone number’.

This is to help with contact tracing if needed and to keep each other safe.

If you're visiting places in Victoria, check-in where you see the QR code.

If you can't check in using the QR code, use the unique 6-digit PIN on the poster for your location. Staff will be able to help you.

We will only use or share your check-in details for contact tracing purposes.

Your personal info can only be used by health authorities to help with an outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

If there’s no outbreak at a venue you’ve been to, we’ll delete your check-in details after 28 days. If we have provided your details to the Chief Health Officer, they can hold onto it for more than 28 days. Your details won’t be used for marketing or other purposes.

Most people won’t need to download anything, you just use your phone’s camera.

If you can’t use a phone, you can check-in on a paper form.

A QR code is really just a link your phone camera can recognise.

In this case, it starts the check-in for the place that you’re at.

If your phone doesn’t start check-in automatically, just download and check-in with the Service Victoria app.

If there are technical or network issues like poor signal or low battery, places can still take your details with pen on a paper form.
