This program will run for up to 12 months and will offer a streamlined process for businesses to undertake low risk activities such as footpath trading, placement of skip bins, and personal training in council parks and reserves. The results will be used to evaluate whether the program should be rolled out more broadly.
At the end of the program, the participating councils will decide whether to continue with the streamlined process or revert to the existing permit system. You will be notified about what council has decided and how this affects you prior to the conclusion of the 12 month period.
That's it! As long as you have obtained any other approvals you might need (see below), you're now able to train outdoors. The council will contact you if they require more information.
The key change is the required level of public liability insurance is now $20 million per occurrence. This has been set based on advice from MAV Insurance.
